Publisher 2000

To install Publisher, run Setup.exe from the root folder of Office Disc 2. Using the /a command-line option, you can create an administrative installation point from which users can install Publisher over the network. You can then run Setup.exe from the root folder of the administrative installation point to install Publisher on users’ computers.

Software prerequisites

Publisher requires that other software be preinstalled on the user’s computer.

Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3   Must be installed before you install Publisher..

Elevated privileges

To install Publisher on Windows NT 4.0, you must run Setup with elevated privileges.

If Setup requires you to reboot the user's computer, then you must be logged on with elevated privileges both before and after reboot.

Reboot requirements

Setup requires you to reboot the computer if you install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5, or if Setup needs to update system files that are in use during installation. If Setup requires you to reboot the computer, then you must log on again using the same account so that Setup can finish the installation.

DirectX 6.0 DirectX\dxsetup.exe

Elevated privileges

To install PhotoDraw on Windows NT 4.0, you must log on as an administrator when you run Setup.

Reboot requirements

Setup may require you to reboot the computer, depending on whether system files are updated during installation. You do not need elevated privileges to finish the installation after rebooting.

If you install PhotoDraw 2000 with Office and you want to minimize the number of times you have to reboot the user's computer, you must install PhotoDraw first, install Office, and then reboot the computer. If you want to install PhotoDraw after Office, you must reboot the computer after you install Office and allow Office Setup to finish installation tasks before you install PhotoDraw.

Important   If you install Office before you install PhotoDraw, and you do not reboot the computer after installing Office and before installing PhotoDraw, then Office may not function correctly.
