Software That You Can Install with Office 2000 Premium

Microsoft Office 2000 Premium contains the following software:

  • Microsoft Access 2000
  • Microsoft Excel 2000
  • Microsoft FrontPage 2000
  • Microsoft Outlook 2000
  • Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
  • Microsoft Word 2000
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5
  • Microsoft Publisher 2000
  • Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000
  • Microsoft Office Server Extensions
  • Microsoft Office Web Components
  • Other applications and tools for Office

You install the software from the following Office 2000 Premium CD-ROMs:

Disc 1   Office (Access, Excel, FrontPage, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word), Microsoft Data Engine, and Internet Explorer 5

Disc 2   Publisher, Small Business Tools, and shared clip art

Disc 3 (PhotoDraw Disc 1)   PhotoDraw, Office Server Extensions, Internet Explorer 4.01 with Service Pack 1a, Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4, and Windows NT Server 4.0 Option Pack.

If you purchase Microsoft Office 2000 Premium with MultiLanguage Pack, then you have access to user interface language modules for Office and Internet Explorer 5, including Internet Explorer menu and dialog box languages, and localized files for the Excel object library, Microsoft Jet 4.0, and Electronic Forms Designer.

The following software, which works with Office 2000, is available separately:

Internet Explorer 128-bit upgrade   Upgrades Windows and Internet Explorer to 128-bit encryption, which enhances data encryption for Internet Explorer 4.0 and Internet Explorer 5. You can download the 128-bit encryption upgrade from the Internet Explorer area on the Microsoft Windows Update Web site. For more information, see the Microsoft Internet Explorer Security Updates Web site at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/security/default.asp.

Outlook 2000 Domestic Security Patch   Upgrades Windows and Outlook to 128-bit encryption, which enhances data encryption for Internet Explorer 4.0, Internet Explorer 5, and Outlook 2000. Each of the Office 2000 applications and related products included in Office 2000 Premium or available separately has a unique set of installation requirements. The methods you use to install each of these products differ based on the following conditions:

  • Installation technology used to install the software.
  • Whether the software requires elevated privileges when you install it on a computer running under Windows NT 4.0.
  • Prerequisite software that must already be installed on the computer.
  • Whether you must reboot the computer after installation.
