Microsoft Office Converter Pack

The Microsoft Office Converter Pack bundles together a collection of file converters and filters that can be deployed to users. The Converter Pack can be useful to organizations that use Office 2000 in a mixed environment with previous versions of Office, including Office for the Macintosh, or other Office-related productivity applications. Many of these converters and filters have been previously available, but this is the first time they are packaged together for convenient deployment.

You can customize the Converter Pack to deploy any number of these converters that your organization needs. You can also choose to deploy them with no user interaction, with full user interaction, or you can include the converters with your deployment of Office 2000.

Installing the Microsoft Office Converter Pack

The Office Converter Pack must be installed separately from the other applications—it is not installed by the Office Resource Kit Setup program. To install the Office Converter Pack, run Setup.exe from the \PFiles\ORKTools\ToolBox\Tools\OCP\ folder on the Office Resource Kit CD-ROM.

Follow the instructions to install the Office Converter Pack on your computer. To distribute the utilities for others to install, you need to deploy all of the files from the folder through a distribution point.

The Converter Pack is also available on the Office Resource Kit Web site. For more information, connect to http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/ and click Toolbox in the left navigation pane. Follow the instructions to download the utilities.
