Office Resource Kit / Deployment

Deploying on Windows NT 4.0

You can install Microsoft Office XP on Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a, but you must have the required level of system files. Setup automatically detects and updates these files during the installation. You can also advertise Office XP applications on Windows NT 4.0 and get install-on-demand functionality, provided that you also install the Windows Desktop Update.
